Watching many women in labour, the thought that comes to mind is: “This is God giving birth to God”. This woman, no matter what her personality when she was not in labour, becomes a warrior, a lioness, a powerful and primitive Goddess. As labouring women, if we are given the space to truly access that essential inner knowing deep inside ourselves, birth can be a truly transformational experience. Giving birth naturally can be a rite of passage, an initiation into womanhood in all its glory.
